Think Like a Man Manages a Second-Week Win; The Avengers Scores Overseas

The comedy Think Like a Man, based on the Steve Harvey bestseller Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, topped the box office for the second weekend in a row with $18 million in ticket sales.
The comedy, starring Kevin Hart, beat a nearly too-close-to call field for second place.
The claymation film Pirates! Band of Misfits earned 11.4 million dollars, technically finishing in second place, while the romantic drama The Lucky One made 11.3 million. The Hunger Games also grossed an estimated 11.3 million dollars while The Five-Year Engagement made a reported 11.2 million. The tallies are so close that box office figures may shift by the time all the receipts are sorted.
Meanwhile overseas, The Avengers raked in $178.4 million in foreign markets over the weekend. On Saturday night, April 28th, a screening of The Avengers closed out the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. The stars of the movie were joined by members of the military and first responders. The movie opens May 4th in the U.S.
