Jim Casey

Let me introduce myself to you. I'm Jim Casey, the guy keeping you company later in the day. I knew I wanted to be on the radio pretty early in life. I was one of those kids you could never get to go to sleep at night. When mom and dad would come to check on me, they'd find me under the covers with a flashlight, a comic book, and my transistor radio. I used to love to tune that radio across the dial and hear the voices coming from what seemed like far off lands. Usually it was no more than a couple of states away, but it seemed far off to me.
When I was in the 8th grade, I took my first speech course, and the teacher told me I had a good voice for radio. That sounded pretty good to me. I thought, "Boy, if I could be on the radio, I'd be rich, famous, and I'd never have to work for a living!" Well, in all honesty, I guess I never really have worked all that hard. In this case, one out of three ain't bad. I toured Mexico as part of hard rock boy band for a while.
Radio has taken me to a lot of those places that I used to hear through the static on that old transistor radio under those covers more years back than I'm willing to admit to now, and they've brought me here to spend the day with you. Thanks for listening... It keeps me from having to work for a living! If you have any ideas on getting the rich and famous part of the dream, let me know!
Jim
